Meet Gus! He found his way into a TX shelter as a stray dog and when no owner came forward to claim him, he was transferred to GPMR for rehab. This boy was absolutely emaciated when he arrived at the shelter. He was only 88 lbs when he arrived and he's already up to about 125!

When Gus came to us, he had caught an URI but that's cleared up. He is good with the other dogs in his foster home. We know he'll grab a chicken if given the chance but did drop when told to :) However with that, it would probably be best for him to live in a home without cats.

Due to Gus poor health when he came into Rescue, it will be a while before he's ready for adoption. He did test positive for heartworms and we've started him on treatment. He's also showing some signs of allergies that we are working on getting treated and determining if it seems to be a food allergy vs an environmental allergy.

Check back for more updates!
