Mastiff (short coat) : : Female : : Young : : X-Large
Hi, I am Athena. I am a very young girl who was let out the front door of her home when my family decided they did not want me anymore. I wandered the streets of Ft. Worth TX for days and then animal control picked me up and brought me to the shelter. I was there for a few days and I had the itchies real real bad so I would scratch myself on the chain links of my kennel to get some relief. I was all full of cracked & dry skin and would make myself bleed from scratching so hard. A real nice lady from GPMR saw me on the shelter web site and I became a GPMR girl. The said by looking at me I had a litter of puppies even though I was still a pup myself. They took me to the doctor and I got all of my vaccinations and I was treated for all kinds of parasites. I had an operation to make sure I would never have puppies again. I also had heartworms. They took a long time to get rid of but I am a healthy girl now. My belly is nice and soft and not all cracked from laying on hot Texas concrete and I do not have the itchies anymore. I finally got to feel grass under my toes & on my belly for the very first time and it tickled so much but I just could not stop myself from doing the Mastiff crawl on the lawn. I love all of my fur fosters brothers & sisters. I even like kids but I do play a bit rough even for what they call a smaller Mastiff. I can't be that small cause when people see me they say "Look At That Big Dog" Did I mention that I love to play with dogs. My foster Mom is the best foster Mom in the world and she says I am the best foster dog she has even had. I would love to be the best dog you ever had. Please consider adopting me so then I can have a forever family to call my very own. More about AthenaGood with Dogs Sponsors: Thank you Christy with Three Dog Bakery for donating a bag of dog food.
